Rancho San Antonio County ParkCristo Rey Dr., Cupertino, CA 95014 Nestled in the foothills above Cupertino lies this 165 acre park with more than 23 miles of trails for hiking and bicycling. If that isn't enough room, the trails connect to additional trails within the nearby Midpeninsula Regional Open Space Preserve. The park features several designated equestrian trails as well. While its steep trails and big views of the valley are the main draw, there are a variety of ways visitors can enjoy a day at Rancho San Antonio without breaking a sweat. Model aviation enthusiasts use the South Meadow for take-offs and landings. The North Meadow has a picnic and barbecue area, as well as four funky-but-functional tennis courts, and one of the biggest Bay Laurel trees in the state. Rancho San Antonio is also home to the Deer Hollow Farm, a historical old farm that is still in operation, and is popular among families and school groups. A number of educational events emphasizing environmental and agricultural programs are held here, run by the City of Mountain View—and the goats are there every day. Rancho San Antonio Park is open throughout the year from sunrise to sunset, with Deer Hollow closed on Mondays. |
